Since most people in the community already purchase pine needles for their homes, why not tap into this market with great fund raising potential. Pine Needles are also the “Earth Friendly Mulch”, meaning that no trees are destroyed to harvest pine needles. Pine Needles are a renewable resource, a great promotional idea in a time when “Going Green” is on everyone’s mind. The information that follows describes potential fund raising ideas.
How do I get started?
We suggest that you Pre-Sell the pine needles and collect the funds up-front, before taking delivery of a trailer of pine needles. This will provide your organization with positive cash flow. You will also have a good idea of how many pine needles you will be able to sell and how many people you will need on the day of delivery for distribution to your supporters. The price of the pine needles is at your discretion.
How will my customers get their Pine Needles?
We will arrange for one of our trailers to be dropped off at a location designated by you. We have several types of trailers that can hold anywhere between 400 and 1,200 bales of Pine Needles. We can supply you with as many bales of Pine Needles as you require for your fund-raiser (minimum order is 400 bales).
You can either sell directly from the trailer at the specific location the day of the event or you can pre-sell leading up to the day of the event. The day designated by you, we will deliver the trailer to your location. From there, you can connect the trailer to an individual in your organization that has a trailer hitch on there truck or suv (except for tractor-trailer loads, which would remain stationary). You then can begin making your deliveries of Pine Needles to the people that you pre-sold; you can also sell directly off the truck as you are going through the neighborhoods. At the end of the day, when all the deliveries have been completed, we will p/u the trailer. We can also arrange for Firewood and Bulk or Bagged Mulch Fundraisers.

How much can you expect to profit?
Depending on the price that you set, an average profit margin is typically $0.60 per bale. If you chose to offer installation/spreading of the pine needles, you have the potential to make an additional $1.50 plus per bale, since you are providing Free Labor for this service.

What kind of staff do you need?
Volunteers. You will need a team lead to run the operation, a treasurer, bookkeeper, inventory control manager, loaders, un-loaders, and a sales staff. While it may seem complicated, its not. It’s plain and simple fun!
